February 21, 2020 Qatar Airways "no longer has an interest in investing in Air Italy and in any other air transport project in Italy, since its commitment was exclusively linked to the Air Italy operation, based on the business plan approved with the shareholder of majority Alisarda ".The Qatari company, a 49% shareholder, made this clear in a note in reference to the Air Italy affair. "The company -specifies the note- will do everything possible, in its role as minority shareholder, to minimize the social impact for workers and travelers, as part of the performing voluntary liquidation procedure decided with the shareholder majority on 11 February ”.
