As Zakharova reminded, Russia has repeatedly stated that the International Court of Arbitration did not have the competence to consider the dispute, and its decision is a “politically engaged act”.

She noted that the decision was made in violation of due process.

“Russia will continue to seek its cancellation in the Supreme Court of the Netherlands,” Zakharova emphasized.

Earlier, spokesman for the Russian leader Dmitry Peskov said that Russia was analyzing the decision of the Hague Court of Appeal in favor of the former Yukos shareholders in terms of defense and challenge.

On February 18, the Hague court ordered Russia to pay $ 50 billion in the Yukos case.

Later, in the Russian Ministry of Justice, commenting on this decision, they said that the country would continue to defend its interests.

Russian lawyers recalled that those who claimed compensation in the Yukos case had previously won at the stages of lawsuits and arbitration proceedings, but later these decisions were quashed by the state court.
