The Anti-Theft Society has also compiled a number of tips for reducing theft in schools:

• Do not place valuables, debit cards or money in your backpack or bag - these should be carried close to the body for increased attention.

• Do not leave valuables in school lockers or hanging in the corridor, but bring them into the classroom.

• Lock the bike in the frame of a fixed object with a certified lock.

• Insert a key washer on the home key, increasing the chance of it coming back if it goes away.

• Label clothing with a stylus to make it easier to identify.

• Tag mobile phone, computer and bike with MärkDNA so they become less theft-prone and the chance increases that you will get back what was possibly stolen.

• Save and document receipts on valuable clothing, bags and technology items, so it is faster to get help from the insurance company if the accident should have occurred.

• See what the insurance looks like with regard to loan computers and loan pads from the school.

• Make sure that the children's valuables are labeled and insured and that the "find" function is switched on the children's mobiles, headphones and plates.
