The region's proposal: Want to conduct cancer care in the new house

The new house D1 / D2 will, according to a proposal, contain reception activities, treatment, rehabilitation and care department for cancer care.

- We have a challenge regarding cancer care with more and more chronic patients who are undergoing treatment and therefore we are making major investments in cancer care at all three hospitals in the county. How we now propose to organize the business in new houses D1 / D2 is part of this, writes Health and Medical Director Mats Bojestig in a press release.

The reason for the change is that in 2019 it was realized that house D1 / D2 would not be fully utilized.

- Health care is constantly changing. The needs described in the planning for 2015 are not the same as those that exist now, writes Mats Bojestig.

Previously, the plan was that the care unit and clinics for stroke and neurology with associated rehabilitation would be in the new house. But instead, it is proposed that they get newly renovated premises in existing Ryhov.

- We plan to provide them with modern and appropriate facilities for stroke care, neurological care and rehabilitation. By co-ordinating in remodeled premises, these operations have much better conditions than today, writes Mats Bojestig.
