The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries plans to have 800 people staggered to work at 11:28 on February 21 due to the spread of the new virus

With the spread of the new coronavirus, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries has decided to aggressively carry out telework for employees who are not in good physical condition and staggered work to avoid congestion during commuting. Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Minister Eto stated at a press conference after the Cabinet meeting on the 21st that he would actively conduct telework for staff of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries at home.

Specifically, it targets employees with chronic illness, those living with small children and the elderly, and those who are not in good health.

In addition, staggered work will be introduced to prevent employees coming to work from being crowded during commuting, so that the start of work can be delayed up to one hour.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, approximately one-sixth of the 800 employees who work in Kasumigaseki's headquarters will start working at the head office at the beginning of the week.

Minister Eto stated, "We want to carry out the project in such a way that it does not affect the duties of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries."
