Nets star Kyrie Irving is likely to have a right shoulder operation, which has been bothering him since early November, which should keep him away from the prosecution for a long time, according to media reports The Athletic.

Kyrie Irving has spent the last few days consulting doctors and the Nets' locker room is already expecting him to stop playing the season again, says The Athletic. The point guard should make his decision in the coming days, adds ESPN, who cites sources within the league.

The former Cavaliers and Celtics player has already missed 26 games this season after suffering a shoulder shock on November 4. To avoid the operation, Kyrie Irving had received a cortisone injection on December 24, which allowed her to return to the floors on January 12.

But, while a right knee injury on February 1 again pushed him out of the floor, Kyrie Irving is still hampered by his shoulder, the effects of cortisone having dissipated.

When he spoke publicly on the subject on January 4, Kyrie Irving explained that an operation was possible if the shoulder pain persisted.

This season, Kyrie Irving has averaged 27.4 points (his best career average and best score for the Nets) but has only played 20 games (eight wins, twelve losses).
