The man had been with some friends on December 27, 2019 when a brawl broke out and the 27-year-old hit the plaintiff in the chest with a bread knife. The plaintiff sustained a wound injury of about two inches on the chest, but the injury was not life-threatening.

Wanted to threaten

The 27-year-old himself thinks he only wanted to threaten the plaintiff with the knife. The verdict states that it should "have made it clear to the 27-year-old that a stab with a long knife in the heartbeat of someone is fatal" and that the 27-year-old, despite this, did not refrain from acting as he did. The 27-year-old is sentenced to six years in prison for attempted murder.

104,000 in damages

The man is sentenced to a further four months in prison for two cases of abuse in court case, four cases of threats against an official, drug offenses and minor drug offenses. He will also pay SEK 104,000 in damages to the plaintiff.
