He specified that instead of the chancellor, State Minister Hendrick Hoppenstedt will go to Halle.

“The Chancellor is constantly informed of the progress of the investigation in Hanau,” Seibert added.

Earlier, the head of the European Council, Charles Michel, expressed his condolences in connection with the shooting in the German city of Hanau.

On February 20, a man attacked two hookahs in Hanau. As a result of the attack, nine people were killed, several more were injured.
