19 February 2020 Life sentence definitively confirmed for Rocco Schirripa, the baker of Calabrian origins arrested in 2015 on charges of having been the material executor of the murder of Bruno Caccia, the head of the Turin prosecutor's office assassinated on 26 June 1983 in the capital Piedmontese. The Cassation rejected the defendant's appeal against the verdict issued by the judges of the Assize Court of Appeal in Milan in February last year.

The boss of the 'Ndrangheta Domenico Belfiore, believed to be the instigator of the crime, had already been sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder. The murder took place on a Sunday when the magistrate decided to leave the escort assigned to him at rest: while walking in the evening with his dog on a leash, Caccia was flanked by a car and reached by numerous gunshots .
