The first letter, written by 53-year-old Roy Grellert from the former German Democratic Republic, is addressed to Konstantin Fedorovich Meleshko, who served in divisional intelligence and was among those who left the inscription on the walls of the Reichstag.

In his message, Grellert notes that he was touched to the core by a video clip with the participation of a veteran.

“Let me ask you only one question: What can a World War II veteran feel - now that the German soldiers are again on the Russian border? In me it causes the deepest disgust! ” - he wrote, and also wished Meleshko good health.

The second letter, sponsored by Albrecht and Rudolph, talks about the historical relations of Russia and Germany, which "were politically connected - and even were friends."

“The stupid decisions made by a handful of stupid people ruined this good relationship and led to a stupid war that brought such a devastation. The men and women who fought for peace in this war did not just save the nations - much more: they saved the whole world, ”the authors of the letter note.

They regretted that after the war Germany was not able to fully return to "traditional German-Russian friendship," and today's politics upset the "necessary balance."

“Russia is a great country with great traditions and can rightfully be proud of its history. Each of the veterans deserves recognition for centuries, deserves to be always remembered by the whole world, ”the message says.

The authors expressed the hope that Russia and Germany would find a way into a common future and would not allow instigators of any kind to tear themselves apart.

Earlier from Germany came letters from Rita Eggert and Rene Velerta.

The project #Post-Victory contains the stories of those who survived the siege of Leningrad, signed on the walls of the Reichstag, those who hid Soviet soldiers who fled from concentration camps.

Over the next months, the project will tell the story of their war and their victory. With the help of the project #Post-Victory, anyone can write a letter to a veteran.

Letters sent to the editorial office of the channel will be transmitted to all veterans.
