It was last fall that the idea for a Pride Parade in Sölvesborg was born to Sophia Ahlin, as a backlash to the fact that the political government in Sölvesborg made a decision that Pride flags should not be hoisted on municipal buildings.

The parade, which launches on May 29, has attracted much attention in social media.

- In the more formal Facebook groups, more than 10,000 people have reported that they want to join the parade, says Sophia Ahlin.

170 registered - hope for 5,000

Recently, the notification that applies to larger sections, which have vehicles and go under the name of an organization, has opened. So far, a notification from the Environment Party has come in with 170 participants.

Are you worried about not getting as many notifications as you initially thought?

- I never think I've seen the Environmental Party go so many in one section, so it bodes well for upcoming announcements. We expect there will be about 5,000 people, says Sophia Ahlin.

Sophia Ahlin believes the announcements will roll in a couple of weeks before the parade.
