It was in December that the municipal council in Skurup decided to ban students and staff from wearing veil in the municipality's schools.

The municipality's work on an integration plan is not yet clear, but the plan will include the ban on hauling.

On Monday, the headmaster at Prästamosseskolan, Mattias Liedholm, published a news article from TT published in Aftonbladet, on the school's Facebook page. In the article, the National Agency for Education makes the assessment that a prohibition on veil violates the freedom of religion and expression.

- The National Agency for Education stated in an article that banning of fouls was not allowed. Since it is of great interest here at school I posted it on our site. But after a while, the administrative office heard from me and wanted me to remove it. I did not agree, but was eventually ordered to remove it, says Mattias Liedholm.

Does not stand for interview

Acting Managing Director Ulrika Fridh cannot make an interview when SVT News contacts her, but refers to Marcus Willman, who is the Municipal Director in Skurup. He also does not want to be interviewed, but believes that the matter should be handled internally.

But Lars Nyström (SD), who is deputy chairman of the Skurup municipal council, wants officials to follow the decisions.

- We expect the principal to follow the decisions that are made in the municipality because he is a municipal employee, it is a democratically appointed municipal board we have in Skurup municipality, he says.

Lars Nyström believes that the rector may become politically involved if he wants to change political decisions.

- Until then, we think he should follow the decisions that are made.

Mattias Liedholm is an active moderate politician in Blekinge where he lives.
