Russian leader Vladimir Putin discussed the implementation of national projects in 2019 and the construction of social facilities with St. Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov.

“We have relatively successfully completed 2019. Thanks for the help you provided. This is 10 billion 600 million rubles for the purchase of social facilities, ”the Kremlin’s website quoted Beglov as saying.

He said that in 2019, 44 kindergartens, 12 schools and 16 medical facilities were built in the city.

“We have now held an international competition in the Art Park. Now there will be a big competition. I think somewhere in June we will determine the winner of this competition. We have chosen eight companies and are starting to develop the Art Park, as you said. We will have a large embankment from Tuchkov Bridge to the Birzhevoy Bridge, ”the governor said.

Putin said that for the federal budget, Art Park cost "not so harmless" and asked about when it is planned to implement this project.

Beglov replied that “for two years, probably” and added that “two and two and a half years design and construction.”

“Yes, for the federal budget this was not cheap,” the governor said.

Putin noted that "Peter is not sorry."

In April 2019, Putin supported the idea of arranging a park zone instead of a judicial quarter on the Neva Embankment in the historical part of St. Petersburg.

Beglov said that the name of the new park zone, which will be created in the center of St. Petersburg, will be determined by the townspeople.
