The German magazine "Abbotken Umchau" advised against using ear drops in a cold state, as they can cause dizziness or pain in the ear, so the vial must be held in the hand for a period of time or placed in the jacket pocket before using it.

In order for the drops to reach the auditory canal, the head must be placed on the side and the earlobe pulled up, but in the case of young people it must be taken into account that the earlobe be pulled back and down until the normal curvature of the auditory can be offset.

The German magazine added that one must wait a few minutes after putting the ear drops, but it is not advisable to plug the ear with a piece of cotton because it must be well ventilated so that bacteria and germs do not reproduce in warm and humid atmosphere.

Drops are also used only if the eardrum is healthy, unless the doctor prescribes otherwise.
