“There is an idea to restart the dialogue with Russia at the bilateral level, to some extent involving our European partners in those matters in which Europe has been virtually absent in recent years,” RIA Novosti quoted Vimon as saying.

The Special Envoy specified that France would like to develop a dialogue in such areas as security and cybersecurity, space cooperation, civil nuclear energy, and human rights.

“We want to talk about all the conflicts that exist at the moment,” he added.

Earlier, French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said that distrust between the EU and Russia should not mean refusing a dialogue in the security sphere with Moscow.

On February 15, French President Emmanuel Macron said that anti-Russian sanctions did not bring either Europe or Russia anything positive.
