The Air Force's current "Dallas" vehicle was purchased as early as 1981 and has a construction dating back to the 1960s. After the chief security ombudsman in Sweden raised three aircraft fleets a year ago, FMV has now announced that the procurement of new vehicles is complete.

A total of 90 so-called clarification vehicles are purchased by Mercedes-Benz AG. The vehicles must be adapted to meet the requirements and then distributed to the fighter companies and to the helicopter squadrons, which includes F17 in Kallinge.

The new vehicles will be delivered during 2020 to 2022. The contract is worth just over 200 million. Thus, the "Air Force's rolling veteran car company" that the criticized Jeeps have been called will be phased out.
