A 21-year-old man was charged and detained after a store robbery on February 14 in Marseille, which led to a lethal chase with the police, announced the prosecutor of the Republic of Marseille, Dominique Laurens.
This man, with a clean criminal record, had been arrested on the evening of the facts, alongside a second, his side released without being worried.
A police officer opened fire
After the robbery of a store on avenue des Chartreux, near the city center, three men had fled by car and had been chased by police from the North Anti-Crime Brigade (BAC).
The fugitives had stopped their vehicle in the city of the Chestnut trees, in the north of the city, and one of them, according to the prosecution, had then "put into play" the police. One of the LAC members opened fire, injuring him fatally. The Marseille prosecutor said that the investigation entrusted to the General Inspectorate of the national police on the use of arms of the police continues.
