February 18, 2020 Forces under the command of General Khalifa Haftar attacked the port of the Libyan capital Tripoli with four missiles. This was reported by the government of Fayez al-Serraj, according to the newspaper The Libyan Express. According to two sources cited by the Libyan Express, Tripoli government authorities moved all ships, including oil tankers, after the attack on the port.

Previously, the Libyan National Army loyal to Haftar had claimed the "destruction of a Turkish ship with a load of arms and ammunition arrived this morning at the port of Tripoli".

Salamé: despite the attacks, the political process continues
Although "new attacks have also taken place today, in the port of Tripoli, and accidents are reported here and there, no one has yet pulled back from the principle of accepting the truce". Thus the UN envoy for Syria, Ghassan Salamé, at a press conference in Geneva. "The political process is trying to find a way forward," said the envoy, who will guide the political negotiations in Geneva. The two delegations have already met this morning, and in the second round "we will try to reach consensus on what a long-term ceasefire should look like".
