Eight microbiological laboratories in hospitals around Sweden will be able to diagnose the corona virus. USÖ is one of them.

"Örebro will have preparedness from the end of next week as it looks now, in order to be able to run analysis for coronavirus," says Anna Lange, assistant infection control physician in Region Örebro county.

Through the measure, the Public Health Authority wants to increase the capacity to analyze samples, shorten the times for transporting patient samples, and give the regions readiness to make diagnoses.

There are currently no suspected coronary cases in Örebro County, according to Anna Lange.

27 affected countries

On Tuesday, three people in the Stockholm area were taken to hospitals for sampling, reports P3 News. The people must have traveled to Asia and shown symptoms after returning to Sweden.

In Sweden, there is currently only one confirmed case, in Jönköping. So far, about 150 samples have been analyzed in the Public Health Authority's own laboratory, according to the authority.

In total, the corona virus has spread to 26 countries, following the outbreak in the city of Wuhan, China.
