In 2017, a company applied for an exemption from the Beach Protection Act to build a bridge over the Hänösundet in Trosa municipality.

The reason was that a bridge would facilitate the company when transporting to and from Hänö to take care of the forest, renovate buildings and transport animals.

Approved first

The community building committee in Trosa approved the application in 2018, but later withdrew the approval. This led the company to appeal the decision to the County Administrative Board, which approved the appeal and determined the exemption.

No special reasons

In January 2019, however, the County Administrative Board took the decision from the Community Building Board for review and in February this year the County Administrative Board again decided to cancel the decision on exemption. They said that no special reasons were required for dispensation.

The County Administrative Board also considers that "the general interest outweighs the company's interest in a bridge".
