The 19-year-old Swiss Leonie Küng, revelation of the week thanks to her final at the Hua Hin tournament, achieved a crazy ascent in the WTA ranking by gaining 127 places to reach 156th in the world on Monday.

Leonie Küng, who was only participating in her second WTA tournament, was still over 500th a year ago.

After having beaten the Chinese Wang Qiang, 27th in the world, in the quarter, she lost in the final of the Thai tournament against the Polish Magda Linette, who won her nine places in 33rd position.

In the top 10, the Dutchwoman Kiki Bertens consolidates her 8th place thanks to her victory in Saint Petersburg, while the Swiss Belinda Bencic reaches her highest level (4th) despite her defeat in the quarterfinals of the Russian tournament.

Bencic wins a place and finds himself closely followed by the Canadian Bianca Andreescu, who also climbs one rank at the expense of the Ukrainian Elina Svitolina who finds herself 6th.

Australian Ashleigh Barty still largely dominates the world ranking.
