The number of mobile Internet subscribers has increased by 36% in Russia

So, at the end of September 2019, 144 million active subscribers who used mobile Internet were registered in Russia. Compared with the data at the end of September 2014 (almost 106 million), the number of such subscribers increased by 36%.

At the same time, the press service of Rosstat specified that this indicator does not take into account people, but SIM cards with Internet access. According to the calculation methodology, the number of subscribers is the number of numbers used.

“This indicator takes into account only active SIM cards. It is assumed that the same person can use several SIM cards, both his own and those provided by the employer, ”RT told the press service of the department.

Earlier media reported that in 2019, nearly 57 thousand illegally distributed SIM cards were seized in Russia.
