Suspected of human trafficking and gross procurement - trial begins

On Monday, the trial in Västmanland's district court will start against the man in his 40s who is suspected of trafficking in human beings and gross misdemeanor. Several women sold six in apartments that the man had access to in, among others, Västerås.

- The apartments have been rented while the women have announced that they are selling six. When sex buyers have contacted the woman, she has told what address she is at and then the men have come there, says chamber prosecutor Jenny Clemendtson at the national unit against international and organized crime.

In total, five women are suspected of being exposed. One of the women must have been trafficked.

- He has deceived her by promising that he would support her and that she would become his wife. During the trip from Romania, he revealed his real intention to take her to Sweden - to use her in prostitution, says Jenny Clemendtson.

Among the prosecutor's evidence are, for example, eavesdropped phone calls between the man and one of the women where he gives instructions on how much a special sexual service should cost.

Eight trial days are set aside in the district court. The man denies crime.
