It was during the night of April 16 last year that the two masked men broke into the 70-year-old's home and attacked him with a hammer.

According to the indictment, the perpetrators must have dealt several blows to the head, face and body - before they pulled the man down into the basement and tied him to an element. They then left the home with jewelry, money and valuables for a total of SEK 34,000.

Received life-threatening injuries

The 70-year-old's injuries were assessed as life-threatening, among other things he should have received several fractures to his face.

The two men, aged 25, who are now being prosecuted for attempted murder and serious robbery, deny crime.

Three days after the brutal robbery in western Blekinge, they committed a similar crime in Lund, where a man was attacked during the night with an assault. For that crime, the duo were sentenced in early January to six and a half years in prison each.
