“Disappointed by the adoption on February 17, 2020 of the decision of the EU Council on the extension of restrictive measures of the European Union against Belarus for the next year. We consider these restrictions as groundless remnants of the past and a manifestation of political inertia in the EU’s approaches to building a dialogue with Belarus, ”the Belarusian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

It is noted that “in recent years, much more has been achieved in Belarusian-European relations than in the previous decade of sanctions.”

Earlier it was reported that the European Union and Belarus signed an agreement on visa facilitation.
