Mixed weekend for the Blues less than four months from Euro-2020: if Kingsley Coman seems to regain form after an injury, Raphaël Varane has experienced unusual errors with Real Madrid. And Corentin Tolisso, subscribed to the bench, can wonder about his future ...

- Coman on the right track -

At 23, Kingsley Coman has been only too slowed in his career by injuries, and his return to form ten days before a knockout round of the Champions League against Chelsea is good news for Bayern Munich.

After two months off (knee), he was established for the first time Sunday against Cologne and scored the second goal in the easy victory of the "Rekordmeister" (4-1).

Two minutes after the opening of the score by Lewandowski (3rd), the former Parisian reoffended by taking up with great composure from the penalty spot a ball offered by Thomas Müller (2-0, 5th).

Coach Hansi Flick is counting on him, as on Lucas Hernandez, for the trip to Chelsea on February 25: "We don't know yet if they can last 90 minutes, but what is certain is that they have need playing time, "said Flick before Sunday's game about the two Frenchmen. "Because when the English weeks (two games, editor's note) start, everyone will have to be in good shape."

- Varane on the grill -

In Spain, the weekend of the Blues was marked by the poor performance of Raphaël Varane with Real Madrid, hung 2-2 by the 17th in the Spanish Championship, Celta Vigo, Sunday evening at the Santiago-Bernabeu.

The central defender (26, 64 caps) seems to be at fault on the two goals conceded and he did not fully understand the pass lines he could have intercepted.

"A serious error", commented the daily As about the first goal, while Marca stressed that the Frenchman "misjudged the offside line".

"There is nothing to explain, it's like that, it's football," said Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane. "We are not well positioned, it happens, and it will happen to us again. But on the second goal, there is just an extraordinary pass. It does not concern me", tempered "Zizou".

Could Didier Deschamps be concerned about it? Not sure: the world champion Varane is a taulier in the French team and he even wore the captain's armband on the last four games of the Blues, against Iceland and Turkey in October, and Moldova and Albania in November.

- Tolisso on departure? -

Conversely, Corentin Tolisso's situation at Bayern is still just as vague, even if he played the last half hour on Sunday against Cologne (4-1), his longest appearance in the league since November. During competition and in a match already folded, he did not have the opportunity to show off.

The world champion never really returned to grace after breaking his knee ligaments in September 2018, which kept him off the pitch for most of last season.

Since the arrival of Hansi Flick in place of Niko Kovac as coach, he has been relegated to the bench. Absent last week from the shock against Leipzig, he had played only 13 minutes in the previous six games (including two missed for injury).

Suddenly, rumors of a departure have been amplified recently. According to the German press, Manchester United wanted to enlist it in the winter transfer window, which Bayern refused. But the transfer would still be current for the end of the season. Bild and Kicker, generally well informed, even note that his departure should free up a place in the workforce for the young German prodigy Kai Havertz (Leverkusen), who plays at the same position.

Arrived in Munich in 2017 for 41.5 million euros, Tolisso is under contract until 2022. By the time of his transfer, he had become the most expensive player ever bought by Bayern (record broken since by Lucas Hernandez, 80 million).
