“Police officers, in hot pursuit, detained a 26-year-old resident of the Lipetsk region, who entered the temple building on Bakuninskaya Street on the morning of February 16 and caused bodily harm to two citizens with a knife,” she said.

According to her, the victims were sent to medical facilities to provide assistance.

According to Interfax, citing a source, the incident occurred in the church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in Pokrovsky on Bakuninskaya Street.

“The man burst into the temple during the service with a knife and attacked the parishioners near the altar,” the source said.

Earlier in Moscow, police detained a man who attacked his relatives with a knife.
