The Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, said that there are no private messages, or direct contacts, to ease tension with Iran, and stressed that Tehran must first change its behavior before any talks.

He added, during a seminar at the Munich Security Conference yesterday: "Any talk will be useless until we can talk about the real sources of this instability."

On the other hand, Iranian Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, said yesterday that "the French and Japanese efforts to push Iran and the United States to the negotiating table have found deaf ears from Washington because the American President, Donald Trump, believes that Iran is on the verge of economic collapse", adding: "He is wrong. All he wants is about regime change."

Zarif stated that he does not exclude the possibility of non-Iranian parties committing more reprisals against Washington, against the background of the killing of the Iranian General Qassem Soleimani in Baghdad, following an American strike, and he made clear that the Iranian official revenge has ended, stressing that his country is not eager for revenge, and made it clear that revenge Iraqis, whose land took place, is possible.

Zarif stressed that his country is ready to back away, in part or even entirely, from the measures it has taken in the context of its abandonment of its obligations within the nuclear agreement, if the Europeans provide in return tangible economic gains.

He added to reporters: «We said that we are ready to slow down these measures, or reverse their course commensurate with what Europe will do, we will decide whether Europe will do enough to reduce or cancel some decisions, we have not excluded taking steps back regarding some of the measures we have taken ».
