Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the solution in Idlib would be for the Syrian regime to stop its hostile actions and force it to withdraw to the Sochi borders, while a Russian military source confirmed that Turkey provided the militants in Idlib with portable US-made air defense systems.

Erdogan added - in a speech in Istanbul - that if this does not happen by the end of this month, Turkey will work to achieve it with the support of its allies, otherwise it will do it on its own.

The Turkish President held talks with his American and Russian counterparts on developments in Idlib.

Erdogan said in a television interview that he had held positive talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Syria.

He added that Turkey could not remain silent about the Syrian government forces cordoning off Turkish observation posts in Idlib.

Mechanisms and armor
On the other hand, Interfax news agency quoted a Russian military-diplomatic source as saying that Turkey provided the militants in the Idlib area with portable US-made air defense systems.

The Russian source added that there are fears of the use of these systems by the militants, especially as they shot down two helicopters for the Syrian army during the past five days.

The source also told Interfax that Turkey continues to send more vehicles and armored vehicles to Idlib, and he also expressed concern about providing the militants with the uniforms of the Turkish army.

For his part, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşo أوlu said that no stability in Idlib could be achieved by means of a military solution, pointing to the determined efforts being made with Moscow to achieve a cease-fire there.

Gawishoglu, after meeting his German counterpart Haikou Maas on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, added that Turkey adopts diplomatic dialogue with Russia to stop what is happening in Idlib, and if these efforts do not succeed, Ankara will take what he described as "other resolute steps to stop the progress of the Syrian regime."

In the same vein, Turkish Vice President Fouad Oktay said that Idlib is a matter of national security for Turkey, not just a border region.

He added in a television interview that his country was aware of what he described as the plots taking place in Idlib, and that it had taken and would take all necessary measures to thwart it.

Oktay pointed out that Ankara informed clearly what he described as partners, Russia and Iran, with the understandings of Astana and Sochi, and that they should secure the withdrawal of the Syrian regime to the border, otherwise his country would have to do it on its own.

He pointed out that Turkey hosts about four million Syrians, and it cannot host a million or two others, because that constitutes an unacceptable huge burden.

Consensus and disagreements
On the other hand, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said today, Saturday, that his country has good relations with Turkey, but there will be differences between them sometimes.

"We have very good relations with Turkey and this does not mean that we should agree on everything. Complete agreement on all issues cannot be possible between any two countries," he added during the Munich Security Conference.

On the ground, the Al-Jazeera correspondent in Syria said that five civilians were killed in a Russian raid on the town of Sahara in the western countryside of Aleppo, while the Syrian regime forces took control of the greater village of Orum and its surrounding areas.

A source in the Syrian armed opposition to the island said that the opposition forces have regained control of all points controlled by the regime forces in the village of Bashmara towards Al-Raqem hill in Jabal Al-Sheikh Aqil, west of Aleppo.

The source added that the opposition killed more than forty members of the attacking forces along the entire axis and destroyed several different military vehicles.

Humanitarian organizations have warned of the worsening conditions of the displaced Syrians, in light of the ongoing military escalation.

The "Syria Response Coordinators" organization said that the numbers of displaced people from the Aleppo and Idlib countryside are constantly increasing with the regime forces and Russia continuing their military campaign, as the organization has nearly 900,000 civilians.
