Khaled Mugahed, spokesman for the Egyptian Ministry of Health, states that the person is a foreign national who carries the virus but does not show any serious symptoms.
Egyptian authorities managed to confirm the case by checking passengers who entered the country from countries that have had confirmed cases of the corona virus. The person is now isolated in a hospital.
Experts have warned that the virus could spread rapidly if it gets infected in countries with poor healthcare, which includes several African countries.
The corona virus has killed a total of 1,400 people worldwide and infected over 64,000 people. Around 500 cases have been confirmed in some 20 countries outside China.
