This meeting started around 2pm this Friday. Around the table are the party's boss, Stanislas Guérini, the executives of the La République En Marche campaign and the members of the National Investiture Commission.

The objective is to save what can still be saved. And for that, you must quickly appoint a candidate. Several names are already circulating, including those of the ministers Agnès Buzyn and Marlène Schiappa but no confirmation for the moment.

These attacks are not worthy of democracy. I believe that we must also have the collective responsibility of saying "not here, not in France".

The question is who will accept to take the reins of a adrift campaign, just four weeks before the deadline. There will be, whatever happens, one or a candidate of the presidential party, hammer the executives of the movement since this morning, who all denounce an attack on democracy.

" There will be a list no matter what "

" No one forced Benjamin Griveaux to make this decision, " said Paris MP Olivia Grégoire. It was a decision he made alone on his own, after hours of reflection. Today, I am shocked at the way certain things happen in our democratic life. There will be whatever happens a list (LREM, note) because we have a program, we presented it yesterday, we have been working on it for two years and it is in these moments, these moments hard, that we see the unity of a family and I can tell you that we are united

All also insist on the fact that the now ex-candidate of La République en Marche had made a personal decision to protect his family. He himself denounced, in a video, a torrent of mud that fell on him and his family for over a year. Prime Minister Edouard Philippe has just publicly supported him.
