Laurent Wauquiez (LR) is on the list of the outgoing mayor of Puy-en-Velay Michel Chapuis (UDI) for the municipal elections in March, announced last Friday, without however specifying what will be the place of the former president of the Republicans among the thirty-three names mentioned.
"It is a list renewed for half, representative of the city, with people of all functions. Laurent Wauquiez represents an important support for the list and for me," declared to AFP Mr. Chapuis, who did not also not wished to reveal whether the president of the Rhône-Alpes Auvergne region would be eligible or not on this "Unis pour le Puy" list.
"He will be in the place that will be most useful," he said. Laurent Wauquiez could find a seat on the municipal council if he was elected, his mandate as president of the region prohibiting him only from being mayor.
