- We want more people to ride a bicycle because we get better accessibility in the city's traffic, we get a better air and people's health gets better, says Daniel Helldén (MP), Traffic City Council Stockholm City.

The municipality has calculated the number of winter cyclists through eight exposed measuring stations in town. Between November and January this winter, a total of 820,436 bicycle passes were made at the stations. It's a record. At the same time, this year's winter has been remarkably mild and there has hardly been any snow.

How do you ensure that cyclists arrive safely?

- The most important thing is to make sure that the bike lanes and the infrastructure are safe and secure. That the cycle track doesn't suddenly end, or that it is separated between pedestrians and cyclists. It's also about making sure the bike lanes are clean from snow and ice.
