Sweden is the first country to have taken part in the proposal how the legal process against the thousands of IS supporters who are currently being held in Syrian camps. During the meeting with Ilham Ahmed, chairman of Syrian Kurdish autonomy in Syria, among others, Minister of the Interior Mikael Damberg (S) and Foreign Minister Ann Linde (S) participated.

Among other things, the Kurds want a special court and move European IS women and their children to a special department where the children should also go to school and be radicalized.

- They are thinking of a comprehensive solution for the women and children, says Mikael Damberg to TT.

If the proposal becomes a reality, it would mean that Swedish women would be brought to justice under such circumstances.

- The Kurds want to focus on the Western European women and children, so, yes, even Swedish citizens.

"Something Sweden has worked with for a long time"

According to Mikael Damberg, it is likely that the Kurds will seek financial compensation for the arrangement.

Ann Linde also commented on the arrangement:

- This is partly a proposal for responsibility in the region, which is something that Sweden and many other countries have worked with for a long time. Therefore, this is very interesting, says the Foreign Minister to the Swedish Radio and continues:

- Plus it is interesting information for us that they are not prepared to leave individual children and mothers, either to Sweden or any other country, if no liability has been claimed. This is clear information that we received, she says.

SVT News is looking for Ann Linde.
