The head of the Shura Council of the Tunisian Renaissance Movement, Abdel Karim Harouni, said that the party will not give confidence to the government of Elias El-Fakhfakh if it is presented in its current form, in protest against the exclusion of some political groups from it.

Al-Harouni's statements came during a press conference - today, Friday - following the conclusion of the 37th session of the Shura Council of Al-Nahda Movement, which won 54 seats in Parliament out of 217.

"We are keen that the government has the chances to continue, that it succeeds in raising the economic and social challenge, and that it has stability in parliament."

Al-Harouni advised Al-Fakhfakh "not to present his government to the head of state in its current formation, and to conduct further consultations."

He explained that the offer made by the traps is "without what is required and does not achieve the goal of national unity, and it contains an imbalance between the participating parties."

The President of Al-Nahda Shura expressed his movement’s adherence to defending a government of national unity that does not exclude anyone, and added that “adherence to a government of national unity comes to Al-Nahda’s desire to end exclusion in Tunisia.”

"What we have noticed in Parliament and the media does not encourage dealing with parties that do not respect each other, and the attack on Renaissance and national organizations - especially the Labor Union - does not help to form a stable government," he said.

Al-Harouni stressed the necessity of "respecting the will of male and female voters and respecting balances in parliament".

Loyalty and opposition
For his part, the head of the "Heart of Tunisia" party bloc in parliament said on Friday that the party will not be part of the government coalition.

Leader Hatem Al-Maleky said that "the heart of Tunisia" will be in the opposition, but he has not decided his position on giving confidence to the proposed government at the parliament's voting session.

The liberal "Heart of Tunisia" party has 38 seats in Parliament, compared to 54 seats for the Ennahda bloc.

On January 24, al-Fakhfakh said that ten political parties have expressed their willingness to participate in the next government.

The parties are Al-Nahda and the Democratic Movement (Social Democrat / 22 deputies), Al-Karama coalition (revolutionary / 18 deputies), the People's Movement (Nasseri / 15 deputies), and Long live Tunisia (liberal / 14 deputies), and the Tunis Project (liberal / 4 deputies), The Republican Popular Union (center / two deputies), Nidaa Tounes (liberal / 3 deputies), the Tunisian alternative (liberal / 3 deputies), and Tunisia's prospects (liberal / two deputies).

At the time, he affirmed that the "Heart of Tunisia" and "Free Constitutional" parties (liberal constitutional / 17 deputies) would be outside the government coalition, stressing that "there is no democracy without real opposition."

A week ago, Tunisian Parliament Speaker Rashid Ghannouchi said, "The government of the traps will not pass and will not gain the confidence of Parliament if the heart of Tunisia is excluded from its formation."
