Coronavirus: a patient in Egypt, the first case diagnosed in Africa

Patient is not Egyptian and is in "stable condition"

According to the Ministry of Health, the individual in question is not Egyptian. However, his nationality was not specified. The World Health Organization (WHO), informed of the situation by the Egyptian authorities, confirms that a patient who is sick but has no " symptoms " has been hospitalized and placed in quarantine for treatment. The institution specifies that this person is in a " stable state ".

Since the start of the epidemic, the African continent had not yet been affected. The virus, baptized by WHO Covid-19 and appeared in December in Wuhan, in the province of Hubei in China, is now present on all continents with this case in Egypt. The latest report shows nearly 1,400 deaths, almost all in mainland China.
