He informed that the incident occurred on the morning of February 12 at a checkpoint in the area of the settlement of Harbat Hamo, located east of the city of Kamyshly.
“A unit of the government forces of the Syrian Arab Republic stopped a convoy of the US Armed Forces deviating from the route. There was a conflict between the US military and the local population, as a result of which the US military opened fire on civilians, ”Borenkov said.
According to him, one local resident was injured, another - a 14-year-old boy - died.
As noted in the Central Command and Control Center, further escalation was only prevented due to the efforts of the Russian military who arrived at the scene.
