The resolution reaffirms support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Libya. The Security Council also advocates an immediate ceasefire without preconditions.

The document, authored by the United Kingdom, was supported by 14 countries. Russia abstained from voting.

In addition, the UN Security Council calls on all international forces not to interfere in the internal affairs of Libya.

Earlier, Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, said that Moscow was counting on taking its position into account when the Security Council passed a resolution on Libya.
