The accident occurred during Tuesday afternoon between Korsträsk and Vistträsk in Älvsbyn when the driver of the passenger car collided frontally with an oncoming truck.

Track and icy road surface

Crime Commissioner Ola Lundström says that the truck driver is now being arrested on suspicion of causing offense to another person's death. According to two witnesses who saw the accident, the truck must have been driving too fast in relation to the road surface, which at the time of the accident must have been icy and lane.

- The truck must have swung and received a toss. The testimony that witnesses made is that the truck was driving too fast. They were afraid that an accident would occur. One of the witnesses must also have seen how the passenger car slid and wobbled because of the road conditions, says Ola Lundström.

He says that the driver of the truck was not affected by alcohol at the time and there were no technical faults on either the truck or the passenger car.
