A member of the Syrian regime forces was killed and others wounded today, Wednesday, after a clash with an American patrol in the Qamishli countryside, local sources said to the island.

Al-Jazeera Net correspondent quoted the sources as saying that clashes erupted after the American regime forces arrested the villages of Tal Hamo in Qamishli countryside and tried to raise the Syrian flag on them.

The sources pointed out that planes belonging to the International Alliance circled over the countryside of Qamishli and heard an explosion in the area after the American patrol interception, and said that it bombed a site of the regime forces.

For his part, Syrian television said that at least one civilian was killed by US forces in the village of Khirbet Amo, east of the city of Qamishli.

He added that the people of the village clashed with small arms with the American forces after they gathered at a checkpoint for the regime forces, who intercepted five American military vehicles that were trying to pass through the barrier in the area.

The Syrian news agency reported that the American planes launched three raids on the village to secure the withdrawal of its vehicles from the village's surroundings.
