Work on the site of the future Toulouse cable car station, in Rangueil. - Tisséo

Before embarking on the heights of Toulouse, Téléo, the future urban cable car that will link the Oncopôle to Paul-Sabatier University, is anchored in the ground. For several weeks, construction work on the three stations has continued south of the Ville rose.

“The foundations of the stations are made, as well as those of the pylons which should be installed at the end of the semester. The walls are also starting to be erected. At the same time, the cabins and the mechanics are being manufactured, ”explains Francis Grass, the president of Tisséo Engineering in charge of the site.

Composed of three stations, including one at the Rangueil CHU, the Toulouse urban cable car will be the longest in France when it is put into service at the end of the year with its three kilometers.

Three cable technology

To enable it to board nearly 8,000 travelers per day, the “3S” technology was chosen. Thanks to these three cables, it is more resistant to gusts of wind and holds up to 108 km / h. "It also has the advantage of offering more spacious cabins, making less noise and reducing the number of pylons from 20 to 5, which prevents us from installing them within the confines of the Bellevue high school", continues Francis Grass.

The cables should be installed at the end of the last quarter, followed by the first tests and a commissioning once the approval has been approved.
