In just three days, about 25,000 people have written on the name gathering that wants to stop the closure of the night train to and from Gothenburg. Jakob Granqvist, 30, who lives in Luleå, was the one who started the name gathering says he is overwhelmed by how fast so many have written on - but it also shows that trains are important.

- I really hope this reaches our decision-makers, and if not, I will do what is in my power to make it happen, he says.

The Minister of Infrastructure does not want to comment

SVT News West has sought Minister of Infrastructure Tomas Eneroth (S) for a comment on the closure of the night trains, but at present he chooses not to comment. In a text message, Tomas Eneroth's (S) press secretary writes:

- The bidders who have not won the tender have ten days to appeal the decision, so we choose not to comment at this time.
