He also noted that the mission will be expanded.
The Secretary General added that NATO is in talks with the Iraqi government.
Stoltenberg said earlier that the Alliance is in close cooperation with the Iraqi authorities on the resumption of NATO’s training mission for the local military.
The alliance suspended its mission in Iraq after the assassination of General of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps Kassem Suleimani as a result of a US operation.
