His Highness the Crown Prince of Dubai praised the innovative and innovative government initiatives that reflect the pioneering level reached by the Dubai government in achieving customer satisfaction and enhancing the welfare of society, as it is a top priority in the UAE.
This came during the delivery of his highness "the banner of the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Program for Smart Government 2019" to the "Department of Economic Development" in Dubai, as the winning government agency for the best government initiative within the program, for the "immediate license" initiative, during the ceremony "Hamdan Forum 2019" which Yesterday, it was organized by the "Dubai Model" Center of the General Secretariat of the Executive Council. His Highness the Crown Prince of Dubai congratulated the winning government initiative, which sets new standards for excellence and innovation in government work, expressing his appreciation to the leading government agencies that continue their absolute commitment to the approach of happiness, positivity and transparency, and the spirit of one team, to the happiness of dealers.
His Highness added: "We value the active participation of the society, which represents a true partner in developing government services to meet the needs of the future."
The Immediate License initiative was chosen as the best government initiative, based on the results of the customer voting and evaluation of the Customer Meeting Committee and the Committee of International Experts, after strong competition between nine initiatives submitted by eight government agencies.
Candidate initiatives for the current session included: “electronic crime” from the “Dubai Police General Command”, “Nol Plus” and “taxi” initiatives from the “Roads and Transport Authority”, and “video communication” from the “Dubai Courts” and the “ The Smart Response (Water) from Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, the “Landlords System” from the Land and Property Department, the “Individual Licensing System” from the Dubai Health Authority, the “Immediate License” from the “Dubai Economic Department” and the “Coordinator” from the “Customs” Dubai ».

For the category of future government services, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum honored a team from the Dubai National School for the “Sustainability + Program,” which is a rewards program to encourage community members to practice positive behaviors, as the idea focused on encouraging individuals to use designated places and sort Waste according to its type, with a view to recycling it, through a special reward system.
The idea is for individuals to collect points each time they put waste in the designated places, according to weight. The idea included engaging the private sector in the reward system, which will provide a culture of environmental conservation and recycling.
In the category of improving government services, the idea of "Athletes Forum" won to improve the service "requesting reservation of club facilities / services" of Dubai Municipality, where a team from GEMS Wellington International School presented a platform idea that aims to encourage young people to practice sports in the emirate. Young people can reserve the stadiums belonging to the Dubai Municipality, and know the most important locations for sports facilities and others, in addition to attending matches in the various stadiums available for reservation, which are organized personally by sports lovers, and everyone within the platform can participate in any of the teams registered to complete Specific number of players, depending on the type of sport that the youth want to play.
The idea will also serve as a database to obtain statistics about those interested in various sports, which will lead to continuous improvement in the service.
A team from the Rashid bin Saeed School for Secondary Education - Boys in Hatta received a special honor for their idea of the "virtual company" to improve the training and development service of the Department of Economic Development, as the youth proposed an idea to replace the workshops and personal attendance of the training courses with a virtual company system that provides an opportunity for investors New to open virtual companies, and training in a practical way to gain the necessary expertise, to avoid losses and gain practical experiences for investors.
The proposed platform also includes the presence of experts in the field of investment to provide the necessary consultations and support based on the strengths and weaknesses of each investor, which leads to the establishment of successful companies, and the qualification of individuals to manage the business. Each winning team received a prize of 30,000 dirhams.
During its second session, the "Young City Builders" championship, which targets school students aged 11-18, witnessed a great reaction from the youth who exceeded 3000 students from 72 schools in Dubai. The youth presented ideas to improve 24 government services in Dubai that were chosen for this year in the category of improving government services, in addition to the ideas that were received in the category of future government services.
More than 50 workshops were organized in the service centers and the city’s builders headquarters, to gain a more comprehensive understanding of services and advance cooperation between youth and government agencies.
It is worth mentioning that the selection of the championship winners came after an evaluation process that was conducted by the jury, which evaluated ideas based on four main criteria: sustainability, feasibility, innovation, impact.
