• Transport: A technical report of "monitoring" of the Hospital del Henares station precipitated its closure
  • Metro: The Henares Hospital station is precipitously closed at the request of the "technical services"

The precipitous closure of the Hospital del Henares Metro station has resulted in a crossing of political reproaches. The mayors of Coslada and San Fernando, the two municipalities through which the section of Line 7 affected by the works runs, accused the Community of Madrid of "lack of transparency" on Tuesday, while the Minister of Transportation, Ángel Garrido He said "rudeness" and "rudeness" that the mayor of the PSOE canceled a meeting with the CEO of the suburban, Silvia Roldán, in which he was going to inform them about this matter.

For a week, the stop in question has been closed to carry out a "functional reinforcement" in the infrastructure that is estimated to last around 12 months. At the moment, neither the scope nor the cost of the works has been detailed.

Garrido, former regional president with the PP and now a member of the quota of Cs in the coalition that both parties form in the regional government, did not want to assess this Tuesday if the problems at this station are related to the change in the projected route initially so that there was a stop next to the Hospital del Henares. The construction of the so-called Metro Este was made during the first term of Esperanza Aguirre at the head of the Puerta del Sol and was inaugurated in 2007 coinciding with the election date of that year.

«I do not know the causes, because I was not here when this line was built, but I can tell you that we have commissioned a study that has already been awarded earlier this year to determine what are the problems of the line both in the conditions to homes as in its layout (...), and from there we will work to try to do some works that really allow us to give a certainty that repairs will not have to be carried out for a long time, ” said the Minister of Transportation.

For their part, the mayors of Coslada and San Fernando, Ángel Viveros and Javier Corpa, appeared in a joint press conference to request «immediate and forceful solutions» to the problems caused by Line 7 of the Metro as it passes through both municipalities. The councilors have requested a meeting with the regional president, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, to "know what is happening" and request "all reports" that have led to the decision to close the Hospital del Henares station, reports Efe.
