A long line of employees at the Bup County Reception in Örebro describes both long waiting times and a lack of resources to help children with difficult problems adequately.

- It's a very disturbing read, says Anki Sandberg.

Point bets are not the solution

Exactly long queues for BUP are a recurring problem. Anki Sandberg is clear that point measures such as letting a private healthcare provider beta the queues are not effective in the long term.

- This is a system error. All actors with children's assignments must cooperate and work long-term in capturing children and young people with mental illness and disabilities, she says.

The long queues can cause the child's feeling to develop very negatively, she says.

- It can be about children who often get outbreaks and who have difficulties with peer relationships, then you have to get help at an early stage, says Anki Sandberg.

Early intervention

Parents testify about how their children's schooling crashes and a vulnerability for the whole family. Therefore, she believes that efforts must be put in waiting for care in specialist care, for example from student health or social services.

- Health care should also be prioritized in the queues so that the children who feel worst receive specialist care earlier, this is done in some quarters today, says Anki Sandberg.
