How to find a job that meets your expectations if you have decided to settle far from a big city? In the third episode of "Profil de l'Emploi", the first LinkedIn podcast in France produced by Europe 1 Studio, Sandrine Chauvin gives the floor to Christophe, who is looking for a job in the South West, and to the boss of the Leclerc group in the role of the "coach".

In terms of employment, the most dynamic region has long been and remains the Ile-de-France! For active people who started their career in Paris, it is often a challenge to find a job as interesting, fulfilling and perhaps remunerative in another region. This is the situation faced by Christophe, 49 years old. Everything has always gone well in the career of this manager specializing in catering. He managed to climb the ladder until becoming director of a restaurant and several attractions at Disneyland Paris. But in 2016, a change in his personal life pushed him to move to the Lot-et-Garonne. And on the job side, everything does not go as planned, he says in the third episode of "Job Profile", the first podcast by LinkedIn France produced by Europe 1 Studio.

To help him, Sandrine Chauvin, editor-in-chief of LinkedIn in France, called on the number 1 in the retail sector: Michel-Edouard Leclerc. With its 700 stores throughout France, the CEO of Leclerc is very familiar with the realities of the regional job market. With his outspokenness, he gives his advice to Christophe and to the active people who, like him, hope to find a job that meets their desires outside of Paris.

Do you want to leave Paris? Three tips for finding a job that meets your expectations

Do not idealize. Before you start looking for a new job away from Paris, take the time to ask yourself. Do not idealize the job you have, or the one you covet! Look closely at the local job market, do not turn away from companies that seem too small to you. This will allow you to move with the maximum chances on your side.

Ask the Chambers of Commerce. We do not necessarily have the reflex but the Chambers of Commerce and Industry can give you information, advice or even offer training to redirect you.

Prepare to telecommute. Asking your company to work only in telework or to find an entirely remote job such as that of consultant can be a solution to consider when you leave a big city. For this, it is necessary to master new technologies and new ways of communicating, beyond social networks of course…
