Five cars were deliberately set on fire overnight from Monday to Tuesday at the Enedis company in Limoges, an action claimed by a mysterious anti-nuclear group. Police said the arsonists entered the site shortly before 1:00 am Tuesday morning, set five vehicles on fire, and attempted to set others on fire.

The flames spread to three other cars, bringing the number of vehicles burned to eight, the source said. Inscriptions claiming the act were found on the site, the message of which was not disclosed by the police. The investigation was entrusted to the regional service of the Limoges judicial police (SRPJ).

"Enedis sabotage claim"

During the day, an email entitled “Enedis sabotage claim” was sent to the Popular Center demanding action: “You kill the little birds, destroy the trees, the forests, you destroy the world. We don't want nuclear power, we don't want Linky, big data or big brother ”.

The message adds: "We want a golden retirement: the minimum wage with 10 bricks, the retirement with 20 pins, you tell us about ecological transition, we tell you sabotage". The claim email was not signed, unlike the one sent to the same newspaper, in October 2017 when Enedis de Limoges had already been the target of arsonists. 21 vehicles were destroyed or damaged by the flames. The act was at the time claimed by a group of elected officials opposed to Linky meters (DECCLIN).

The territorial director of Enedis, Jean-Luc Gautier, according to whom the damage amounts to 400,000 euros, announced that he had lodged a complaint on Tuesday: "Technical intervention vehicles containing a lot of equipment were affected. This can penalize our public service missions ”. About fifty vehicles are parked in this park, he said.
