by Tiziana Di Giovannandrea February 10, 2020 "Words hurt more than beatings" this is the phrase of Carolina Picchio, the first recognized victim of cyberbullying and who has become the icon of the battle for the respect and well-being of minors on the Web.

Words that have become the reference point and the flag to prevent and avoid incorrect and incorrect use of the Net.

'Together for a better internet' - together for a better and correct use of the Network - is the theme that, for years, links the initiatives promoted for the World Day for Network Security, coordinated in Italy by MIUR and established by the EU Commission in order to promote correct, positive and safe use of digital tools by new generations.

Over the years, Safer Internet Day (SID) has become a regular appointment in the calendar for awareness-raising initiatives for a healthy relationship between minors and the web, in particular against cyberbullying and hatred online.

A moment of concrete reflection in which the attention of both educational and governmental institutions and professionals is concentrated. This year for the SID 2020-Safer Internet Day 2020- the Carolina Foundation offers adults and children, from 14 years of age (by law, in Italy, you cannot have social profiles before), to change from 10 to 16 February the profile photo on social media and on WhatsApp using # SID2020 #CAROLINA #ALTOPROFILO.

To join the International Day for Network Security, the Carolina Foundation launched the #ALTOPROFILO campaign.
To ensure an educational action even beyond February 11, 2020, the Carolina Foundation, which aims to help young people who increasingly harm themselves and do themselves harm by using the Web in a distorted and unaware way, makes available various activities, divided by age group, which encourage reflection on the topic at any time of the year.
