An airliner of the Russian company Utair carried out this Sunday a very animated landing on the runway of an airport in the north of Russia. The craft, which was carrying 94 people, was able to land in an emergency without causing any injuries.

Images shared online show the Boeing lying on its stomach in the snowy tarmac at Osinsk Airport in the Komi Republic, a region in Russia's Far North. The plane had taken off from Moscow.

A landing gear problem

No passengers were injured in the incident, but a woman requested medical assistance. According to several sources, a problem with the landing gear has occurred. "The plane landed on its tail," said a spokesperson for the local Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The passengers were all evacuated by the emergency slides. Due to negligence or dilapidated facilities, especially at regional airports, air accidents are quite common in Russia.
